HYSA, Harwinton Youth Sports Association, soccer, baseball, Field Hockey, Basketball, Harwinton fun kids,The Harwinton Youth Sports Association (HYSA) is a non-profit organization formed to develop and maintain a high quality of recreational activities
Our Field Hockey Program is designed to introduce young players to the sport of field hockey, with the opportunity to teach them the fundamentals and concepts of field hockey while having fun. We offer our programs to both Harwinton and Burlington residents in grades 3-6. Our primary season is in the fall, and runs for approximately 8-10 weeks. Off season, we also offer an indoor winter program for grades 2nd through 12th.
Coaches for the 3rd/4th and 5th/6th grade teams are Kim Falconer and Kristen Murray. Practices Begin on Wednesday August 29, 2018 at Lewis Mills High School. Practices will be every Wednesday from 5:30-7:00pm as the days get shorter, we will end practice a little earlier. We will be adding a second practice day this season for the 5th and 6th grade team, second practice day TBD.
3rd/4th grade will have 3-4 games usually played on the weekend. 5th/6th grade games are every Sunday at 2:30. There will be no games held Columbus Day Weekend. Schedules will be posted in August.
We are in need of an assistant coach for the 3-4th grade team, that can shadow and assist this season, that would be willing to stay on as a coach for the 2019-2020 season. Both current coaches have children aging out of the program after this year.
